Can You Afford It A Rethink On Farm Machinery Shelter
The piece argues housing farm machinery reduces annual depreciation from 16 percent to 8 percent. With $600 tied up in gear, depreciation is $128 if kept outdoors and $64 if housed. At 50 percent, one could cover interest on a sturdy shed and still have funds left, so farmers should calculate if leaving equipment in the open all winter is affordable.
