Man Released After New Bridge Tragedy Involved in River Crash
James A. Yeatman, one of three in the car that plunged through the guard rail of New Bridge into the Tuckahoe River, was released from Denton jail where he was held during the investigation. State Police Sgt. Paul Randall said Charles C. Groh’s body was found near Hillsboro, and Thelma Yeatman was recovered upriver on Wednesday.

Funeral services for John Henry Horsey 62 shoe salesman and farmer killed in a Denton hit run were held at his home with reverends officiating. Burial followed in Hillsboro cemetery. He was native to Caroline county and survived by siblings and relatives in Denton Georgetown and Seaford. Emma Harris died at Memorial Hospital in Easton on October 23. Funeral services were set for 2 pm at Piney Church with burial in Denton cemetery. Davis Shooting Was Accident in Court Trial
An all white jury heard closing statements in the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court trial over a Preston killing. Howard Hubbard Sr. testified the shooting of James M. Davis was an accident in self defense after a street fight with Palmer and Hubbard Jr. involved. Medical examiners confirmed Davis died from a gunshot wound to the left chest.
