Ex Governor Goldsborough Dies At 81 In Baltimore
Phillips Lee Goldsborough former Maryland governor from 1912 to 1916 and U.S. senator from 1929 to 1935 died at Union Memorial Hospital Baltimore after an operation ten days earlier. He was 81 and remained active in Republican politics. later served as a director of the FDIC and traveled weekly to Washington. Surviving are two sons and three grandchildren. his wife Mary Ellen Showell died in 1930. He was born in Cambridge in 1865 and educated in Dorchester County schools and Episcopal High School.

Judge J Owen Knotts sentenced four Ridgely men including three brothers in Caroline County circuit court for the murder of Robert Murray and assault with intent to kill Corporal Koste. Junior Murray received eight years for manslaughter and two years for assault, to run concurrently, with others jailed for two years each.
