Circuit Court Finishes October Term in Caroline County
The Caroline County Circuit Court completed its October Term with multiple dispositions. Norman Waters pleaded guilty to larceny and received one year in the Maryland House of Correction. James E. Mitchell was found guilty for larceny while Horace Mitchell was acquitted. A. A. Strannahan was found guilty of selling intoxicating liquor with mercy recommended. William Dorsey Edwards and Raymond Albert Murphy were convicted of larceny and given two years in state facilities. James E. Mitchell was convicted of driving while intoxicated and sentenced to two years in the Maryland House of Correction. Rex Sheppard was sentenced to four months for breaking and entering. Strannahan was also sentenced to six months for sale of intoxicating liquor.

Uncle Jim reports from an experiment station that applying lime and sweet clover over several years increased corn yields from 39 bushels to 63 bushels and lowered production costs from 64 cents to 47 cents per bushel.
County Health Board Met In Denton Last Tuesday
Denton hosted the County Public Health Board meeting with representation from Preston Greensboro and Denton. New secretary Mrs. Clayton Taylor and treasurer Miss Bertha Miler were named. Mrs. Harry Nuttle remains president and Mrs. Harry Ramdell is publicity director. The group planned Tag Day on election day to support county nurses. An exhibit on nutrition from the Bureau of Child Hygiene was shown near the platform used by the President during Labor Day in town. The Health Office Annex and proper Health Office were upgraded with improvised rest rooms and a first aid station aided by the local Boy Scout Troop.
