Report on Jail Visit by Grand Jury in October 1938
The Jail Committee found 2 colored women, 11 colored men, and 7 white men housed separately. Cells were clean but toilets on both floors were in deplorable condition with seats broken and flushes out of service. Seven new toilets, new radiator valves, and 22 window shades were needed.
