Easton Woman Killed In Head-On Collision
An Easton woman, Peggy Deitert, 32, died after a head-on crash on Miles River Neck Road near Unionville. Her husband Sheldon, 35, and the other driver William Lyons, 19, were injured. Deitert died at Memorial Hospital Easton. Lyons suffered a broken nose and lacerations.

Police report a weekend radar operation on Route 404 in West Denton shows an average speed of 48 mph in a 30 mph zone. Over two hours Saturday 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. 17 arrests and 2 warnings followed earlier 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with 5 arrests and 30 warnings. Most speeders were out-of-state. only 3 of the arrests were local. Children were seen darting across the road amid heavy traffic. drivers warned to use caution to prevent more serious accidents.

Feeder Pig Sale Held At Sales Barn Last Monday
Mr. Coursey Edwards of Ridgely and Mr. Fred Detwiler of Pocomoke City co chaired a Feeder Pig Sale at the Denton area Sales Barn on Monday November 24. Dr. James Ferguson and local agents aided as 679 pigs from Maryland and nearby counties sold for 30 to 44 cents per pound, averaging 64 pounds. It kicks off a semi annual series with the next sale planned for May 1959 on the Peninsula.
