Maiden Effort unfolds a lake side ruse and debutante plot
Kelsey Hare, recovering architect, meets Martin Holmes at a Moldavia lake. Holmes’s novel is rejected from a Purity Pictures prize. Kelsey buys the manuscript, rents Holmesholm, and adopts the name Templeton Sayles while staging a hoax to help the story win a $15,000 contest. Marion Van Stratten pursues the contest amid rival beauties and a tangled cast.
