Court order ratifies sale in equity case No. 3135 Chy

In Caroline County Circuit Court in equity No. 3135 Chy the sale reported by assignee Wilbert L. Merriken is to be ratified and confirmed unless objections are shown by January 11. A newspaper notice is required in Caroline County four consecutive weeks before December 11. The report lists sales at 1500 dollars. Clerk T Clayton Horsey signs as true copy.

Maryland's Ark and Dove Day to mark tercentenary

A War Memorial in Baltimore will host a November 22 meeting to commemorate the 1683 Ark and The Dove voyage from Cowes England. The event marks Maryland's tercentenary with a tablet unveiling by Lord Fairfax, speeches by Sir Timothy Eden and Ambassador Robert Bingham, and exhibitions of Calvert family portraits. The program, broadcast internationally, includes a Master mix of art, history and state celebration heading toward St Marys City in 1931. Central figures include Governor Ritchie, Maryland officials, and various cultural representatives.

Last Span Of New Dover Bridge Floated Into Place

The last section of the Choptank River Dover Bridge linking Caroline and Talbot counties was placed about 4 am Monday. The old bridge was demolished after installation. The new span completes the permanent roadway though final connects and electrical draw operations were described as in progress.

Denton Girl Wins Prize In Maryland Canning Contest

Mary Wigfield of Allegany wins first in Class 1 Emergency Dinner and Elizabeth Twining of Baltimore County dominates multiple classes with top finishes in canned meats vegetables and fruits. The Maryland State 4-H contest drew 325 jars from 15 counties and will send winners to Chicago for national competition in December.

The Eastern Shore Federation of Women's Clubs met at Salisbury State Normal School on Friday November 10. Dr. Gilbert Wilcox Mead of Washington College urged women to promote peace. Pianist William Harms performed classical and modern pieces, with encores. The meeting featured singing, reports, and discussions on budgets, motherhood education, and legislation.

Maryland Game Warden Denies Support for Muskrat Closed Season

Maryland State Game Warden BE Lee Compte states he did not favor a closed muskrat season in 1934 and notes no marshland owners support such a move. He recalls testimony before the Public Works Board in 1933 suggesting only that relief could come via a special session, not mandatory limits, and emphasizes owners may trap or forego trapping based on local muskrat populations.
