Caroline County dairy and beef farmers eligible for freight reduction
The Secretary of Agriculture declared Caroline County a disaster county due to a hay deficit, making dairy and beef farmers eligible for a 25 percent freight rate reduction on hay shipments this fall and winter. Certificates of Entitlement must be obtained from the County ASC office and presented to dealers and railroad agents to apply the reduced rate and liability language. A second notice promotes the Third Maryland Dairy Cattle Breeders Institute on December 7 in Centreville with talks by Dr W Petersen and Curtiss Hobson, sponsored by state dairy groups.
