Bobcats Take Two From Federalsburg
The National Guard Bobcats basketball team defeated Ducky Detweiler's Federalsburg Club 31 25 at Federalsburg last Thursday. They won again at the Armory 61 47 against the same club. A November 11 game vs Centreville Club is set at Centreville Armory. A Mar Del basketball league meeting was held in Dover to organize the coming season, with another local Basketball Association meeting planned once the league finishes its setup.

Maryland Press Association offers Frederick printer school scholarship
A State School for Printers will be sponsored by the Maryland Press Association next summer with a Journal scholarship to a deserving Caroline County youth. The ten week course at Frederick School of the Deaf costs about 150 dollars covering board and personal needs. The program uses the Frederick shop to teach basic printing and typesetting with goal of producing a competent apprentice printer for Maryland weeklies.

Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Mary F Morgan of Queen Anne widow of Henry A Morgan and only child of the late James H and Mary Fleming of Hillsboro. She leaves a daughter Eugenia M Barto and granddaughter Mary Belle Barto of Easton, plus uncle Frank Fleming and aunt Mrs Willard Russell of Hillsboro. She was prominent in church and civic life and is buried beside her husband in Greenmount Cemetery near Hillsboro.
