Prestons Celebrate Centennial Parade and Naval Guests
Preston marked a centennial celebration with a memorable parade and warm hospitality. Out-of-town visitors enjoyed the festivities with Admiral G C Carmine and Rear Admiral Thomas A Shenley as hosts at luncheons and a buffet at the Chambers home. Local families hosted guests, including Abe Canton of Baltimore and others from Federalsburg and Hagerstown, as the town looked back on a successful event. The celebrations also included a trip to Annapolis for the 200th anniversary of St Johns and a wedding in Centreville.
