Claiborne Annapolis Ferry Plans Eight Auto Lanes
The Claiborne Annapolis Ferry Company will build a larger faster ferry this year to serve the Annapolis Matapeake route. General manager Benjamin F. Sherman says the craft will carry 100 autos and 1,500 passengers with eight driveways and reach 18 knots, finishing in 20 to 25 minutes. Specifications by Maryland Dry Dock Company, ready by March next year, will keep Governor Ritchie and Dennis on the Annapolis Claiborne run alongside the new vessel.
