John Frederick Jarvis of Greensboro part owner of Oasis near Denton was fined 200 in Caroline County Circuit Court for selling beer to six minors on April 2. The county commissioners will consider license suspension. witnesses testified the minors were served beer, with two admitting purchases.

Fire destroyed the Rosalie Manufacturing Co in Hurlock, estimated at 125000 by company president Louis Bogash. The two year old cinder block plant housed clothing production with 120 sewing and cutting machines and 100 dozen blouse stock. Driver Gets Jail Term in Manslaughter Case
A. Tilghman Rash of Ridgely was found guilty of manslaughter by a Caroline County Circuit Court jury and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a $250 fine. His vehicle struck and killed James William Morris, son of Mrs. Beaver M. Morris, while Morris rode his bicycle near Downes Station on February 23.

Youth Cleared In Auto Death Near Wye Mills
James Combs 18 of Goldsboro was found not guilty of manslaughter in a fatal crash on US Route 50 near Wye Mills that killed James Walls and injured three others on April 30. He was convicted on two counts for operating without a license and speeding, with fines of five dollars and ten dollars plus costs.

Denton Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Drive Urges Support
The Denton Fire Company ambulance, in operation since August 1941 and one of two in Caroline County, relies on donations to cover expenses. It answers calls locally and to the Delaware line, and has transported patients to Salisbury and the Western Shore. In the past year it made 92 calls, with about 186.50 in donations against over 500 in expenses. Current drive funds total 1767.09. residents are asked to contribute to sustain this service including 3 volunteer drivers and a graduate nurse on call.
