Georgia entomologist Scott reports a lime and salt wash as a summer treatment for the San Jose scale on peaches. The mix slows breeding, kills young insects after they emerge, and reduces numbers on trees though eradication is unlikely. Applications require hand painting of trunks and larger limbs, with spraying and brush work to reach higher branches. May is identified as the peak breeding month for effective control.
