Poppy drive ordered 1500 units, 75 percent for local child welfare and 25 percent for state and national funds. A $5 donation sent to the American Red Cross. April is Child Welfare Month with plans for related programs. Kent-Queen Anne Memorial Unit in Millington to hold charter dinner April 15. reservations due April 10. Next meeting April 10 at 8 p.m.

Carnival Dates Updated Greensboro Fire Co Carnival
The Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company Carnival runs June 24 through July 7 replacing prior dates of June 30 and July 12 to ensure rides and attractions are available. The carnival committee plans twelve full nights of fun and entertainment. Firemen meet Friday March 28 at 7 30 p m at the firehouse. Blue Cross representative Mr. Dayton will discuss the plan. The next Firemen's Band practice is Thursday April 8 at the firehouse. new members are welcome. The annual drive for operating funds has reached 663 00 with 49 new contributions totaling 279 00 this past week.

Two Johns House Destroyed By Fire Near Denton
A landmark known as Two Johns on the Choptank near Denton burned last Sunday at noon. Tenants Mr. and Mrs. Robert Thomas noticed fire by the kitchen chimney and Denton firefighters soon contained the blaze. The two vaudeville figures J Stuart Crossey and John Hart built and frequented the mansion, famed for a theater observatory and riverfront dance Round-house. Crossey died in a garret and Hart vanished from public view. Mrs. Lawrence B. Towers now owns the property built in the 1880s on a Choptank river farm, once a celebrated port of call for Baltimore steamers and guests.

They will present findings at tonight's meeting.
