Md and Del Coast Railway Sold For 26100.00
The Maryland and Delaware Coast Railway Company was sold at public auction in Denton by Winthrop Sargent Jr of Philadelphia for 26100 with a 5000 deposit. The purchase includes about forty miles of track from West Denton to Lewes along with all property and rolling stock. The sale follows a Federal court decree with the Pennsylvania Company for Insurance on Lives and Granting Annuities as trustee on decrees against the railway.
