Spare stamps 9 enable five pounds sugar canning

Spare stamp 9 in family ration books now covers five pounds of home canning sugar. McCormick reiterates keeping ration books even after using stamps labeled sugar.

Sugar ration stamp limits for home canning this season

Many service members with new ration books receive a single sheet sugar ration book replacing war ration book four. The OPA cautions home canning sugar allowances will likely not exceed 10 pounds per person due to sugar supply uncertainties and Cuban crop prospects. No extra regular consumption allocation is foreseen. housewives should budget to use home canning sugar only for that purpose. The next sugar stamp becomes valid May 1, with a second stamp expected in late June or July to cover fruit-season needs.
