Frank Duncan, a Blenheim farmer near Camden New Jersey, shot his wife Patience dead then took his own life. A short note said financial troubles caused this act. Their children, nine and six, returned home from school to find the bodies. Detectives Doran Levins and Gibbons investigated.

Walter Marison, a 23 year old theological student from Rochester New Hampshire, was fatally wounded during a failed robbery at Gonle Manufacturing. Police say he admitted he sought money to defray college expenses and that a watchman fired when Marison advanced on him with a revolver.

Washington march 4 a justice department drafted resolution passed by the house to stop vessels from leaving American ports with coal and supplies for belligerent war ships. It would authorize the president to order customs to withhold clearance from any vessel of American registry believed to intend carrying such supplies.
In Pottsville Pennsylvania on March 4 Dr A I Gillars suffered serious injuries after a fall of about three feet while crossing a stile to visit a patient. His foot caught on a top bar causing three broken ribs to press on his lungs and a concussion of the brain is feared to have resulted.
Lancaster March 4 The Lancaster Morning News was sold by receiver H B Kennedy to Steinman and Foltz proprietors of the Intelligencer and the Morning Journal for 5000 dollars.
Official dispatches to the state department from Vera Cruz report forty killed in the blowing up of the Mexican gunboat Progreso. Earlier figures ranged from three to thirty, with the new count confirming a higher toll.
Washington reports Major General Wood denied circulating propaganda for an American Legion of reservists. He called Bishop Greer’s accusations audacious and said no official at his headquarters has any connection with the so called Legion. Wood said Roosevelt was not approached by him about the plan and that his involvement is limited to a brief interview with its founders.
Governor Stewart received a telegram from Senator Walsh stating Secretary Bryan objects to a Montana bill prohibiting white women from working in restaurants run by Orientals. New York March 4 Frank Abarne and Charles Carbonne two anarchists indicted by the grand jury in connection with the plot to blow up St Patrick Cathedral under the law they can be sentenced to twenty five years if found guilty Amedo Pulignano the Italian detective who trapped them draws praise from many while his Irish wife prays he may be spared further dangerous missions. Anarchist leaders hooted the arrests Emma Goldman and Dr Ben Reitman call the case a police frame up to curry public favor.
Washington dispatch reports Brigadier General Scott chief of staff to the army traveled to Utah to negotiate a peaceful settlement with the renegade Plate Indians. He is noted for prior successes including leading Navajos to camp without bloodshed and speaks several dialects. The trip may take three days over snowbound terrain.
Denver March 4 Governor George A Carlson signed the temper ance measure. The bill imposes statutory penalties for enforcing the statewide prohibition constitutional amendment which becomes effective January 1 1916.
