Carl Fountain of 205 Lincoln Avenue Collingdale Pa marks twenty five years with Philadelphia Transportation Company this month. He is Assistant Foreman at Woodland Depot shop since 1942 rising from car cleaner through general repairman electrical inspector and night foreman. Fountain spent 15 years at Woodland with earlier service at Frankford and Callowhill depots. He is son of Walter Fountain of Denton born and raised locally. His sister Agnes Morgan also resides in Denton. Fountain is a Big Brothers member and ambulance driver for Collingdale Volunteer Fire Co. No 1. He resides in Collingdale 25 years and has son Carl Jr a Collingdale High School freshman and daughter Dorothy age two.

County Nursing Committee Sees 1950 Tuberculosis Fund Plans
The Caroline County Nursing Committee met on September 14 with members and public health nurses present. Chairwoman Mrs. Wilbert Merriken reported 1949 tuberculosis seal sales totaling 2207.59, noted 500 added to the Building Fund from Tag Day, and announced new Tuberculosis Committee members Mrs. Orme and Mr. Logan. Also highlighted were mental health seminars, bedside nursing service hours, early Polio Fund contribution from Henderson-Marydel PTA, and Farm Bureau Building Fund gift. Bank balance stood at 1086.25 with 761.63 in Building Fund.
