Hartly Leads Mar Del League Drive With Twinbill Wins
Hartly stretched its pennant push in the Mar Del League by sweeping a Denton pair 12 to 9 and 3 to 0, increasing its lead over Rock Hall to 14½ games. Hammell beat Hughes 12–9 in game one, Knight shutout Colo-led Denton 3–0 in game two, and Rock Hall moved into second by beating Houston Libbys 4–2. Greensboro moved to fourth with a 6–2 win over Felton, while Church Hill defeated Bridgeville 8–3 to edge up in the standings amid a protest over an infield fly ruling. The race tightens as Hardy, Rock Hall and Houston vie for the lead with the rest close behind.
