Commissioner Helvering announced five dollar use tax stamps for motor vehicles to show payment for the 1942-43 fiscal year. Stamps, serial numbered, must be affixed by July 1 1942 with make model engine and state license on back. Windshield placement rules vary by Maryland and D C. Penalties up to 25 dollars or 30 days in jail apply for noncompliance. Magruder, Collector, Maryland District, notes cash or money orders accepted. stamps sold at post offices.

Miracle House opens its twenty fourth season at Claiborne Maryland on Monday June 29. The Maryland Tuberculosis Association will treat over 100 children in July and August to strengthen them against disease and restore health. Japanese beetle control program announced for Caroline County
County Agent George W. Clendaniel announced a countywide cooperative program against Japanese beetles. Traps will be leased for 20 cents each with bait, and new bait priced at 5 or 10 cents. Disease and parasite work, plus spraying and plant choices, aim to reduce beetles and provide temporary relief.
