Mrs J H Summerfield president of Caroline County Federation of Women's Clubs invites Home Makers' Clubs to support the Nurses' Board drive for the Miracle House Preventorium in Claiborne. Collection week starts July 1 with a visit July 7 and donations can be left at the County Health Department in Denton. Beds for three county children anticipated. fresh and canned fruits and vegetables requested. Public meeting July 6 to plan distribution at the Masonie Building Denton.
Miss Emma Bradley of Federalsburg and Mr. Herbert Messick with Mr. Thomas Boyd of Chester were weekend guests of Miss Catherine Chance. Mrs. John L. Chance and daughter Catherine recently visited her daughter Mrs. Lloyd Davis of Chester.
Denton Scouts at Garland Lake last Friday night included Charles Behlke William Behlke Wesley Thawley Jr Robert Thawley Irvin Samis Jack Harrington Sherman Tribbitt Jonathan Hughes Jr Austin Murphy William Horsey Robert Moore and Billy White Irvin Samis Jr Assistant Scoutmaster earned merit badges in Pathfinding and Bird Study and a Star Scout badge Dr Louis S Welty and Irvin Samis led the troop at the encampment About seventy five boys and nineteen leaders attended with Court of Honor awards presented by Stanley M Woodhead and W Ray Tabler Various merit and star badges were awarded to named Scouts from Denton Tilghman Easton Federalsburg Centreville and St Michaels.
Concord notes show Springfield visitors Mr. C and Mrs. E Roland Seeders and their son Robert visiting Annie Seeders. The Reverend and Mrs. Louis Dennis returned from a Florida trip. William Murphy is convalescent after illness. Mrs. Howard Hayes of Vineland New Jersey visits her parents and siblings at the Walling home.
