Federal Court Convened Here Last Monday
The summer term of the Federal Court convened here last Monday with Judge W. Calvin Chesnut presiding. Ten men pled guilty in an Eastern Shore liquor-smuggling case and were sentenced to a year and a day in Atlanta Penitentiary, while one defendant did not appear. Other juries imposed fines and short terms for various offenses including illegal liquor manufacture, out of season hunting, and mail tampering by Mary Wooten.

U S Urged To Help To Build The Bay Tunnel
The Denton Chamber of Commerce urged Representative Cole to back a four way Chesapeake Bay tunnel from Love Point to Sandy Point with federal aid.
