County Commissioners Cut Tax Rate to $1.30 Per $100
The county board at a special session reduced the 1932 tax rate to $1.30 per $100, while the state rate stays at 25 cents. After two years of cutting, Caroline now has one of the lowest shore rates. The detailed levy covers bonds, court, schools, roads, and public services with a total tax plan of about 286,883 dollars. Also included is health guidance urging mothers to breastfeed, use boiled cow's milk, sterilize bottles, and protect infants from flies, with regular medical checkups urged monthly in summer.
