Sixteen year old Susan Richards of Bridgeville won Miss Delmarva 1960 at Selbyville High School as Governor Boggs crowned her. The new queen will receive a 750 scholarship, a Florida trip, and will be a senior at Bridgeville High School next year.

North American Seventh-day Adventists hold a five day Youth Congress at Atlantic City's Convention Hall June 21 to 25. More than 1,600 official delegates from 50 states and six Canadian provinces attend as attendance is expected to surpass 15,000 by week’s end. Fire Destroys Adams Shavings Building
Fire of undetermined origin destroyed Roy R. Adams's Quonset Hut near Denton on Monday June 20 at about 8 30 am. Denton fire department and Greensboro Ridgely companies fought two hours to control the blaze, which consumed the sheet metal hut and contents including machinery and tons of shavings. Insurance partially covered the loss.
