Grand Jury Indicts Man for Larceny in Caroline County
The Caroline County Grand Jury indicted Charles Dickerson of near Goldsboro for larceny of clothing books and items stolen from Dewey Blanton on May 14 1959. Dickerson previously convicted on probation violations and received a suspended one year sentence. Magistrate Court fines were issued to Claude Cecil Miles Edge and Bernard Edge for drunk and disorderly conduct. Robert Orvel Walls faced a charge after the new minor alcohol possession statute. Donald Marvel was found guilty of reckless driving and failing to stop, with an appeal planned.

Local Red Cross Elects Officers For New Year
The Caro line Chapter of the American Red Cross held its annual meeting at the Health Department on June 11. James O. Knotts presided and 1,018 letters were sent inviting members. Treasurers reported $1,795.46 in checking and $1,244.06 in savings. Reports highlighted hospital aid, Christmas stock and garden projects, and 506 county swimming enrollees with 291 certificates. New officers were elected: James O. Knotts Jr. as chairman, Sarah Bash as vice chair, E G Riley secretary, Aldridge Pepper treasurer, with three 3-year directors named. The slate was unanimously approved.
