Centreville manager Ralph Walls brings 20 players to face the Dentonians next Sunday at 2 30. The newly organized Centreville squad, formed from old timers and top High School players, is expected to be a tougher club than last week. Dentonians are now better organized for the clash.
The Nuttle Lumber team will play Fort Miles Army at 3 o'clock Saturday. Manager Dodd promises a real game this week after last Saturday’s postponement. Expected starters include Killen on the firing line and a prominent catcher from a nearby town.
A Dover section six club league is proposed to replace independent games with Felton Fort Miles Playtex Dover Air Base Smyrna and Wyoming in the current Dover League and Church Hill Centreville Denton Bridgeville Ft Miles Seaford as suggested additions A definite schedule could have the Army Club playing all away games as managers work on the new setup with further plans due next week.
Centreville defeated Denton’s Cy Coles 7 to 4 at Centreville Park. Pitcher Henry Lucas fanned 6 and walked 1 for the Denton squad. New players Geo Heald and Gene Cole joined Weir with 2 and 3 doubles respectively, aiding Denton’s strongest lineup yet. E Butler of Centreville and Paul Myles in relief drew cheers for standout work.
Caroline County heavy chinchilla breeders led the heavyweight class at the first Federalsburg rabbit show under Del Mar Va Rabbit Breeders Association. About 400 attended the seven hour event with 71 entries reported by secretary Mrs Chevier Davis. Ivan T Morton chaired the show committee and praised civic group involvement. The awards list notes first second and third placements across several breeds and classes with winners including Preston Rabbitry Grisby & Son Sunburst Rabbitry Eastern Shore Rabbitry and others from Federalsburg Salisbury Cambridge Easton St Michaels and Cambridge Maryland.

Cn Furlough Corp. Paul F Breeding visits Hickman parents Mr and Mrs Frank Breeding while on furlough. He served with Delaware's 198th Coast Artillery in the South Pacific including Guadalcanal. His parents report son Pvt Allen N Breeding has arrived safely overseas.

Local craft boards in Denton Maryland announce five new classifications for registrants based on physical status. They include 9A L for limited service in war supporting activity, 2B L for limited service men aiding the war effort, 9A F for men disqualified but employed in war activity, 2B F for physically disqualified, and 1C F for medical discharges. Local Board No 1, Denton, Md, Chairman M. A. Blackett explains the distinctions between discharged servicemen and those still serving in 1C.
Service Shorts Pvt John A Soward moves from Fort Knox Kentucky to Camp Polk Louisiana and takes a home furlough with his parents Mr and Mrs John Howard of Denton. Lieut Comdr James F Wright USN of Elizabeth City North Carolina and Lieut jg W A Stewart Wright USNR recently transferred from New York to Charleston South Carolina visited their mother Mrs J Frank Wright last weekend with their wives.
The Boy Scout Camporee at Easton was the largest yet in the area with twelve troops and 31 patrols totaling 155 scouts and 30 officials. Troops from Cambridge and Easton participated. Maryland State Guard members assisted, patrolling Friday and Saturday nights for safety. Highlights included Camp Fire led by R Oscar Smeal and Lewin Wheat.
General Dwight D. Mohr of Baltimore, commander of the Maryland State Guard, told the Denton Rotary Club that the State Guard will serve until the National Guard returns. He described England's Home Guard as well equipped and capable of defending against parachute invasion, radar, and rockets, noting English morale and extensive war service including inspecting 2,000,000 troops with the Duke of Gloucester and traveling nearly 12,000 miles. He also mentioned that Londoners largely ignore air raid shelters and that he lost 26 pounds.
The final meeting of the Caoline County Methodist Youth Fellowship is at Garland Lake on Monday June 5 at 6 PM for swimming with a 7 30 PM end time. A campfire service speaker hymn sing along with hot dogs rolls and soft drinks will be provided. The County Organization hosts and hopes for a large delegation from each church for the last gathering until September.

Judge J Owen Knotts chairs the fifth war loan campaign meeting in Caro Line county inviting district chairmen and publicity committee members to a dinner at Brick Hotel on May 31. Campaign runs June 12 to July 8 with Baltimore National Bank executive William F Wiley speaking on the national effort. District chairmen named include J Tyson Heather J Frank Lane K Thomas Everngain Robert O Dulin Theodore E Fletcher W Edwin Unger Joseph M Eaton and Roger R Ringgold. Publicity committee led by G Arthur McDaniel with Burton Wilkinson Mrs Howard Melvin Marjorie Ann Chambers and Mary E Hobbs. District chairmen to announce next week.
