Farm Planning Group Celebrates 100th Meeting at Kern Home
The Farm Bureau Planning Group No. 6 marked its 100th gathering July 2 at the Kern home with county officers directors and families as guests. Mrs. J Charles Stevenson chaired the evening with group singing led by Clifton Crouse and stunts by Mrs. J Boone Jarrell and Mrs. Clifton Crouse. Charter members recalled early history and the first meeting on March 1 1938. A large cake with a 100 design and treats followed, with many members and guests attending from nearby towns.

Legion Carnival a Complete Success in Denton
Commander Ralph Werner of Caroline County Post 29 reports the recent Denton carnival was a complete success. He credits public cooperation, Legion members, Kay Amusement Company, Henry for the Ford sedan, and the Legion Auxiliary for building a nest egg for a Legion Home. Kay Amusement Company also funded the PTA, District Boy Scouts, and Denton Baseball Club. Officers will be nominated at the July meeting with election in August. all Post members urged to attend.

A set of farm events runs July 18 at Garland Lake with a double program. The Caroline County Farm Bureau annual picnic and a 4-H Club dairy call show, judged by Floyd Arnold of Maryland University, kick off the series. An August 3 Eastern Shore Bull Show and Holstein Field Day follows under Maryland University extension. Entry blanks go to Francis M. Rogers, and all entries must be received by July 20. A county hog show is planned for October, the first in Caroline.

A one week end conference for Young Adults will be held at Wesley College in Dover Delaware on July 20 and 21. Miss Virginia Stafford of the Board of Education in Nashville will be the speaker and forum leader. Registration starts Saturday July 20 at 1 p.m. An interesting program includes study worship recreation and a business session. The conference ends Sunday July 21 with a consecration service. State Democratic Convention Scheduled for July 23
The Democratic State Convention was tentatively set for July 23 and will begin at noon in the Emerson Hotel ballroom.
