North Caroline High To Field First Football Team
North Caroline High plans a fall 1959 football program after study by Superintendent Wilbur S. Hoppengardner and staff. Three teachers join as coaches and instructors, led by head coach Thomas Zachary Jr, with Jack Smith and Nicholas Martocci assisting. Tractor Accident Fatal To Queen Annes County Man
A 27 year old farm hand Edward Kane died in Kent Queen Annes Hospital Ches ter town from internal injuries after a 900 pound disc rolled over him on Monday morning. He fell off the tractor and while trying to return to the seat the disc and wooden drag passed over his body. Services were held Saturday and continued on page 4.

Selbyville Girl Crowned Miss Delmarva XII at Dover Festival
Nina Lou Ringler a 16 year old from Selbyville won Miss Delmarva XII at the 12th annual Delmarva Chicken Festival pageant before a capacity crowd at Dover High School. Lin da E. Humes of Harrington placed second. The event also featured art show prizes and a Little Miss Delmarva contest won by Donna Hope. Gov. Boggs crowned Ringler, with awards also given for cooking and distinguished citizen honors.

Class Of 1949 Holds Tenth Year Reunion At Denton Fire House
The Caroline High School class of 1949 held its tenth reunion at the Denton Fire Hall on Saturday June 27. A sumptuous turkey dinner was served by the Ladies Auxiliary and seasonal flowers provided decoration. The program featured an invocation readings and introductions with awards and a business meeting followed by dancing and reminiscences. Representatives included Philip Walters of Norwalk Conn and Mrs Evelyn Norman Mowbray recognized for most children. The class motto honored the spirit of participation: Not Whether We Won Or Lost But How We Played The Game.

Charles E Hignutt 67 a retired Seaford produce buyer and garage operator died when his pickup ran off Route 527 six miles southeast of Bridgeville late Wednesday. The vehicle rolled twice and came to rest on its top in a road shoulder. He died of multiple injuries at Nanti coke Memorial Hospital Seaford. Funeral held at Watson Funeral Home Seaford with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery Seaford.
