More Lime Used in 1946 on Maryland Farms

Maryland farmers used about 350000 tons of lime in 1946, according to PMA State Director Jos H Blandford. The rise of about 20000 tons from 1945 mainly came via AAA county offices, with 117450 tons in 1946 distributed through counties. Spreading service by large trucks expanded in 1946, aiding application and possibly boosting the total. The director hopes spreading will reach all Maryland counties in 1947.
