John H. Williams of Federalshoro a member of Federal Lodge No. 35 and Grand Lodge of Maryland was elected to the Board of Directors of the Odd Fellows Home at Frederick one of 63 homes for the aged and orphans. A longtime supporter of Odd Fellows projects including the United Nations Pilgrimage for Youth and Education Foundation. He lives in Smithville and once operated a dairy farm.

County To Get Soil Survey Report From 1964 Data
The United States Soil Conservation Service and the Caroline Soil Conservation District announce a published report on Caroline County soil survey completed in 1964. After years of fieldwork, scientists traced soil depth texture drainage and material, then researchers from SCS and the University of Maryland interpreted results for public use. The report includes use soils for sewage disposal woodland management engineering irrigation drainage and wildlife plans plus complete soil maps on recent aerial photos, aiding county planning and homeowner health officials.
