Maryland Farmers urged to file for conservation aid

Maryland farmers may receive about half the cost of soil and water conservation practices under the 1963 Agricultural Conservation Program. Requests must be filed at the local County ASCS office before starting work. Programs cover vegetative cover, erosion control, and wildlife habitat when beneficial to soil and water protection. Without this assistance, many farmers could not fund needed conservation.
