The Annual Meeting of the Stock holders and Directors of The Denton Cemetery Association will be held Monday afternoon January 11 at 2 30 o'clock in the offices of Lawrence B Towers in Law Building at Denton Maryland for the transaction of business that may properly come before them Lawrence B Towers President
January fourth marks the return to classes at C. H. S. with varied student reactions from cheer to doubt as examinations loom. Spring athletics begin soon with baseball and speedball for boys and volley and hitball for girls. Staffing shifts follow two teacher losses, with class and schedule reassignments and new portraits arriving courtesy of Hon. T. Alan Goldsborough.
The United States District Court for the Eastern Shore of Maryland convenes in Denton on Monday morning January 18 with Judge William C. Coleman presiding. U S District Attorney Simon E Sobeloff and two Baltimore assistants will prosecute cases involving federal prohibition laws as the court takes up sessions expected to last several days. The prior summer session was held in Denton last July.
Caroline Chapter No. 62 O E S installs 1932 officers at first meeting led by Deputy Grand Lecturer Mrs Mary Smith of East New Market. Officers include Worthy Matron Mrs Helen Thawley Worthy Patron A E Miller Associate Matron Mrs Carrie Morgan Associate Patron James W Thawley and other appointed officers.

C W Stokes and Emma Satterfield dined with Clarence Voss’s family. Mollie Cahall plans winter with relatives in Wyoming.
The Evel Lee murder trial, initially set for Cambridge in Dorchester County, was transferred to Towson in Baltimore County by Judges Pattison Duer and Bailey of the First Judicial Circuit. They moved to avoid potential reversal if a Cambridge conviction occurred, noting an unprejudiced jury could be found in Towson. The trial is expected next week. Lee is accused of killing Green K. Davis, his wife and two daughters on October 21, 1931.
Smithson J A Bryan and Mrs Katherine Hudson of Baltimore spent holidays with Mr Bryan’s brother in law and sister Mr and Mrs A R Willoughby. Many local families from Hebron Yaphank Bridgeville and Philadelphia visited relatives during Christmas with other relatives in town.
