Corn-Hog Contracts Bring Cash to Caroline Farmers
Government payments under the corn hog adjustment plan will provide cash to Caroline county farmers who contract with the Agricultural Adjustment Administration in 1934. Corn payments total 30 cents per bushel on contracted acres, with 18 cents paid early and 16 cents in fall. Hog payments are $5 per head on 76 percent of hogs raised and sold in 1932 1938, with staged installments through 1935. Administrative expenses are deducted from final payments. Farmers may still sell corn and hogs as usual under past quotas.

Chocolate Walnut Cookies from Household Hints
Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg and sour milk. Sift cake flour with soda and baking powder, then add melted chocolate and chopped English walnut meats. Drop from teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet about 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Icing to appear next week.
