Extra Session Impends Due To Jewish New Year
Conflicting dates of the Maryland primary and the Jewish New Year may prompt Governor Albert C. Ritchie to recall the General Assembly for a special session to establish a new primary day. Deputy Attorney General Willis R. Jones notes the fall primary on Sept 10 conflicts with the holy observance Sept 10 and 11, a repetition of a 1930 situation when the assembly met briefly in midsummer to adjust the date.

He noted Berlin Easton municipally owned plants pay about half, with a fair return goal and prior utility appeals.

Fifth District Resents State Road Program
Farmers and residents along the proposed route resent the State Roads Commission plan to award Phillips Brothers Construction to build one mile of macadam from Allen's Corner near Federalsburg to Reliance Delaware. They question material quality and route straightening, noting Caroline county would gain little from the $3.6 million federal road grant. A second nearby mile and a half near Bethlehem is also planned at about $16,496. A protest meeting against fund distribution is proposed.
