She supervised tuberculosis cases maternal hygiene school health and infant care plus health education and hospital admissions with ongoing orthopedic and vision correction plans and sanatorium bed admissions.

Noted Speaker At Washington College

Dr George F Zook director of the American Council of Education and former U S Commissioner of Education will be the principal speaker at the mid winter Convocation at Washington College on February 21 Dr Zook a noted speaker on educational subjects and a leading authority on higher education in the United States Dr Gilbert W Mead president of the Eastern Shore College announced the event saying the February Convocation honors Washingtons birthday and the colleges historic ties to the Father of Our Country

Farm Bureau Banquet Set for February 21 in Denton

The Caroline County Farm Bureau will hold its annual banquet in the Denton Methodist Protestant Church dining room next Thursday evening February 21 at 6 45. Program includes the Mar Del String Trio Music, remarks by Toastmaster Richard Blackburn, Grace Rambo of Saddl esville and C E Wise Jr Maryland Farm Bureau secretary treasurer, plus solos by Edwin Wright and a talk on Cooperatives by Dr F B Bomberger. President Roosevelt Addresses Boy Scouts on National Radio

More than a thousand Scouts on the Peninsula heard President Roosevelt speak via a national radio link marking the 25th birthday of Scouting in America. He urged heed to the Scout Oath and highlighted decades of Scout service including the 30,000-Scout National Jamboree planned for Washington from August 21 to 30.

Canners and Fieldmen Meet at College Park

A canners and fieldmen conference will be held February 26 and 27 at the University of Maryland College Park under the Extension Service and Experiment Station. Herman A Hunter says talks by scientists and industry leaders from Maryland and nearby states will cover canning crops pathology and related topics with exhibits by the university and seed houses.

Eastern Shore Accounts for Fifteen Percent of State Forest Fires

District III which covers the Eastern Shore counties reported 148 forest fires in 1934, making up 15 percent of statewide fires. The average acres burned per fire was 14 and slightly higher than 1933. The record lists fires by county with numbers for acreage burned, damage, and total extinguishing costs.
