Acrostic Curse on Benedict Arnold Sparked by Oliver

Pyramids as Tombs Through Ancient Times

A German archaeologist notes that ancient writers treated pyramids as tombs, tracing their evolution from mastaba benches to Cheops. Egyptians provided sustenance for the dead and protected the body, with religious rites ensuring offerings. Early tombs were pits with chambers, then mounds with an east niche and a front court for worship. The Naqada brick sepulchre near Menes marks an early above ground burial complex. Royal tombs appear with Menes’s successors around 3200 B.C.
