The class of 1943 presented their annual Senior class play last Thursday and Friday nights. Penny Pringle dreams of Hollywood as Dimity West, with Jo ana and Kerry plotting to derail her plans. Cast includes Mary Louise Hignutt, Helen Booth, Harry Hughes, and Barbara Butler. A festive interlude with the CHS orchestra followed, as classmates received thanks for ticket sales and the gift of Evening in Paris.

A Maryland USDA War Board letter defines two classes for meat sellers under OPA Meat Restriction Order 1. Slaughterers exceed 600000 lbs in a 3 month period. non quota slaughterers are farmers selling smaller amounts and must not exceed 1941 sale levels. Quota periods began Oct 1, 1942, with records required and penalties up to 10000 and ten years. Canned meats and some products are exempt. The order became effective Oct 1.
Caroline High plans to induct qualified students into the Victory Corps at a future assembly. The plan centers on eight aims: wartime citizenship, physical fitness, military drill, science and math focus, pre flight training, pre induction courses, community service, and guidance for manpower needs shaping youth toward war efforts in civilian defense and production.
The Maryland Merry-Go-Round notes Congressman Tommy D Alesandro of Baltimore could become unofficial mayor of Washington on January 6 as he takes his third term oath and leads the House District of Columbia Committee. His status draws no ceremony, but public statements may follow if asked. He seeks unity for next spring mayoral races with Baltimore as a possible second target.
