First Mid-Year Graduation At Shore Institution
Washinon College president Dr Gilbert Wilcox Mead in Chestertown announced the first mid year commencement in the college's 160 year history set for Saturday afternoon January 20 in William Smith Hall. Twenty four seniors will graduate with full academic formalities, with a May August or January 1943 class listing. A formal commencement dance is proposed for Friday January 24. Norman P. Foster of the Salisbury Maryland office urges employees covered by the Social Security Act to obtain a wage statement if they suspect 1938 records are incomplete. Changes must be requested within four years of the earnings year. after January 1 1943 records for 1938 will be conclusive and hard to amend except to match IRS returns. A postcard form is available, and corrections can be made after receipt of the statement.
