Hamilton Easter and Sons of W. Balto Street Baltimore advertise as importers jobbers and retailers of dry goods for over fifty years Their stock includes silks dress goods wraps linens mourning fabrics hosiery gloves and shawls from their own importation They promote shopping by mail samples sent free and urge readers to specify class of goods when ordering
Blackiston and Son return from the city with a large stock of dry goods groceries ready made clothing boots shoes hats caps and more. They urge customers to judge prices and quality for themselves and note they have the largest stock in Denton. Country produce accepted in trade.
On Christmas Eve Blazer, a bootblack with five dollars saved in a tobacco bag, plans to buy treats for his crippled friend Tony.
