A course in agriculture for honorably discharged veterans farming individually or with a father has been organized in Denton. Fifty evening classes will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 10 PM at the AAA offices, sponsored by the Veterans Administration. Directed by W Stewart Fitzgerald and Francis M Rogers, it is Caroline county’s first veterans agricultural class, with ten members.

Retirement Plan Adopted by American Stores Stockholders
At the American Stores Company stockholders meeting on December 16, they overwhelmingly adopted an Employees Retirement Plan. The plan provides regular income after retirement for employees of American Stores, Acme Markets, and subsidiaries. Normal retirement is 65 to 70, earlier retirement possible with company approval. A Christmas bonus was approved and $150,000 will be distributed among all employees.
