School Registration to Begin September 6 Countywide
The county-wide registration for new pupils will be held at all schools on September 6, the first day of the new term, for children who moved into the county since June. Caroline School in Denton will also register August 30 and 31 from 1 to 5 PM daylight saving time. Parents are reminded that children ages seven to sixteen must attend school, younger children may join if turning seven before January 1, 1950, and all new entrants must be vaccinated before or upon entering school.

Tragic death of Bobby Adams shocks Hobbs
The community mourns four year old Bobby Adams youngest child of Mr and Mrs Jack Adams after being struck by a truck Friday night in the family garage. Funeral services were held at the church with Sunday School boys pallbearers and interment in Denton Cemetery.
