Brown Liden Reunion Held On Sunday Last
Mr and Mrs Clarence A Brown of Bridgeton New Jersey hosted the Brown Liden reunion at Dublin Hill Community House near Bridgeville Delaware on Sunday August 12. About ninety relatives and friends from multiple states attended a covered dish luncheon. Relatives sang led by Mrs Earl White and a piano duet by Mrs Alden Hopkins Jr. included hymns recalling old camp meetings. A humorous monologue by Mrs Earl White concluded the program. Elmer Robinson president of Smithville Md presided at a brief business meeting noting births weddings and deaths since the last gathering. The oldest present were Taura Dean and Jack Stevens both 89. the youngest was Barbara Johnson 2. Those traveling farthest were Melvin Bieber and family of Radcliff Kentucky. Walter Breeding Federalsburg moved from vice president to president. Benjamin F Johnson Jr of Denton became vice president and Charlotte White of Bridgeville remains clan secretary. The next reunion set for 1963 will be hosted by W Wayford Brown and wife of Wilmington.

Review of Traffic Deaths on Maryland Highways
Eight of the nine deaths on Maryland highways last week were caused by driver error. Speed was a factor in three deaths and alcohol contributed to five. Colonel Jarman urged stronger driver training and licensing requirements to curb accidents.

Goldsboro Minister Named Director at Wesley Theological
Richard L. Hamilton pastor of the Goldsboro Methodist Charge since 1959 is named to Wesley Theological Seminary Washington DC as Director of its Development Program. Effective September 1 1962 Bishop John Wesley Lord announced the appointment noting church needs in Peninsula Conference and at Wesley Seminary. Hamilton, a Marshall University and Wesley Theological Seminary graduate, has served in Baltimore and studied at American University and Shepherd University. He and his wife Marjorie Beury Wintersteen have two sons and will reside in Washington DC. A successor for Goldsboro Charge has not been named.

Factory Accident Costs Goldsboro Boy His Arm
Samuel Hitchens, 17, a worker at the J Noble Jarrell canning factory in Goldsboro, had his right forearm amputated last week after his arm was caught in an electric tomato grinder while transferring baskets over a conveyor. It took 45 minutes to free him and he is reported in fair condition at Memorial Hospital at Faston.

The 1962-63 term begins for over 4,600 pupils with 209 teachers, including three half-time instructors in K aid programs in Greensboro Denton and Federalsburg. A first ever class for severely retarded students will be housed in Denton. Enrollments are projected to rise about 77 from 1961. Principal meeting at North Caroline High on August 30 to finalize plans.

Preston Man Fatally Stabbed in Preston Home
A 41-year-old Preston resident Dennard Melvin Friend was stabbed to death Saturday night about 7 15 p m at Riaymond Jackson’s Preston home. A 30-year-old woman is in custody for investigation, per State Police at Easton. The victim died on arrival at Memorial Hospital at Easton.

Mardela District Youth To Attend National Conference
Twenty young people from the Mardela District of the Church of the Brethren will travel by train from Baltimore on August 18 to Estes Park Colorado for the National Youth Conference.
