Store Fronts Damaged By Accident Saturday
Two large plate glass windows were broken when a vehicle driven by Isadore Boyle of Queen Anne struck Butler Barber Shop and The Clark Shop on Market Street last Saturday at about 3 p m. Boyle tried to brake but accelerated into Market Street colliding with Walter Harris of Hillsboro. Boyle was charged with failing to grant right of way on a through highway. Damage estimated at 350 dollars.

The Daffin Farm estate of Danjiel H Hodgman and Louise Hodgman three miles from Hillsboro was sold at the courthouse door to Chesapeake Estates and Farms for 55400. Major Hodgman had bought the 190 acre property from Paul and Mrs Phillips of Sadlersville on Sept 4 1946. The sale followed a mortgage dated Aug 29 1953 to Denton National Bank, with assignments transferring this to Ernest M Thompson for foreclosure.

Hog Quarantine Meets Hunter Opposition In Caroline County
After a 90 day dog quarantine due to two rabies cases, about 60 fox hunters and local residents urged lifting it before the County Commissioners. Officials explained the quarantine was State mandated and vaccines are being distributed with stations to be announced.

Caroline County to observe daylight time schedule change
Caroline County will shift to daylight saving time beginning April 24 at 2 a.m. Children will attend school one hour earlier on April 25. Daylight time will align with Baltimore and most of Maryland and stay in effect until September 25 at 2 a.m. Fitzgerald, superintendent of schools, announced the adjusted schedule.
