Supt. W. S. Fitzgerald To Retire August 1st
Mr. W. Stewart Fitzgerald, current County Superintendent of Schools, will resign effective August 1 1956 at his four year term end. The Board will appoint a successor after its May organizational meeting and the resignation acceptance. Wilbur Hoppengardner of Washington County is expected to be named the new Superintendent of Schools for Caroline County.

Gienger of the University of Maryland Extension Service have been invited by President Eisenhower to attend the President's Conference on Occupational Safety in Washington May 14-16. The event seeks to prevent injuries in industry and agriculture with speeches, clinics, and demonstrations. The conference ends with a report to the President on voluntary safety actions, as Job Safety Week runs May 13-19 to reduce injuries and losses nationwide.

Ridgely Horse Show Set for August 5 in Ridgely Park
The Ridgely Lions Club will sponsor the 5th Annual Horse Show on Sunday, August 5, in Ridgely Community Park. M. L. Sutton directs the event with Lions President Martin Sutton praising it as a premier East Coast show. The over 30 class schedule features Maryland State and Regional trophies, two rings, and judging. Caroline County Board of Election Supervisors announced that voting machines will be shown on Registration Day April 24 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in poll places and set up as in the primary. Denton Park Plan Proposed By Local Civic Leaders
