North Caroline High School won by Hallock Construction Co of Oxford at 1068200 dollars after bids opened April 3. Four bids were reviewed with the lowest from Hallock, and completion is slated 15 months from award. Ground breaking will involve county officials and school representatives from Greensboro Ridgely and Denton.

Conservation Aid Attends Ohio Training Sessions
Charles L. Knott of the U S Soil Conservation Service has returned from a three week training session at the Conshocton Ohio training center. He studied soils agronomy drainage cartography and biology to aid local farmers in soil and water conservation. The session included a 180 mile tour of the Muskingum Conservancy District and a talk by Edward M Davis Maryland State Conservationist. A total of 29 conservationists from 13 states attended the center serving 22 Eastern and Corn Belt states. The Hydrologic Research Station 1047 acres operated by the U S Agricultural Research Service hosts the center. Knott works under Conservationist C V Layton and Caroline District farmers can visit the SCS office in Denton to discuss conservation problems.

Two Way Radio Installed In Denton Police Auto
The Denton Police car is equipped with a two way radio to speed calls. Chief J Tilghman Whitby says officers can contact the State Police Barracks at Easton TA 23101 to reach town officers by radio on night calls. The current patrol schedule slows downtown coverage.

Tidewater Boat Show Sells Out Exhibits Planned At Easton Airport
The Tidewater Boat Show at Easton Airport is a complete sell-out with spaces expanded to outside lots after all hangar spaces sold. Exhibits include 14-foot runabouts to 25-foot cruisers, Owens 2500 by Raymond Lowery, a fiberglass Comet, ship to shore gear, yachting apparel, marine insurance and paint. About 12 boat makes and 35 to 40 models plus seven motor makes will be on display. The show runs 2 pm to 7 pm April 11, 12, 13 with an April 11 opening by J Millard Tawees and a Navy air-sea rescue demo at 3:30 pm on April 13.

Talent Show Planned for Delmarva Chicken Festival

Choptank Electric Cooperative reports about 250000 in damages from the snowstorm affecting five Eastern Shore counties Talbot Queen Annes Caroline Kent and Cecil. About 6000 customers faced outages lasting 2 to 11 days with 50 to 60 percent of poles down and 1000 broken. Emergency crews from Virginia and Pennsylvania aided. Dr. Robert H. Wright, a Greensboro physician, is nominated for a three year term as councilor of the Medical and Chirurgical Faculty of Maryland. Goucher Girl Killed In Accident Near Easton
Miss Mary Jane Freeland a Goucher College student died in a car crash near Easton while riding with Midshipman William Potter Dukes of Denton who was critically injured. Dukes later transferred to a Naval Hospital. The car wreck occurred on the way to a Tidewater Inn dinner with Dukes and his parents. Freeland, formerly of Waukegan Illinois, drowned after the crash and fire.
