The State Roads Commission approved a revised summer schedule for the Chesapeake Bay ferry system linking Sand Point and Matapeake. The motor ship Gow Emerson C. Harrington 2d will augment Sands Point Matapeake service, operating Fridays and Sundays from June 16 to September 11, causing suspension of Claiborne Romancoke service on those days. the Dennis Nice and Conor will maintain hull service from 5 AM to 11 PM, with the B Frank Sherman available on peak Fridays and Sundays. The Harrington also serves during the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekends to meet high traffic demand.

Cancer drive sets $1,800 goal in Caroline County
Mrs. William F Wolf of Denton chairs the Caroline County cancer control campaign with a goal of 1800. Officers include Charles V. Moore treasurer Tasloe Lewis and Dr. Charles Stonesifer medical advisor. Sub chairmen cover many towns and Denton solicitors list numerous volunteers. Volunteers also sewed cancer dresses for public health service. Last year Caroline County raised 2600 for research education detection centers and patient care.
