Four Ridgely brothers stationed in England spent a three day leave together with Red Cross help. Corp Frank Galante Pvt Joseph J Corp Alexander E and Corp Tony T Galante, sons of Mr and Mrs Tony Galante of Bridgeville formerly Ridgely, served in Maryland National Guard Overseas since Oct 1942. Ser gt Nelson Fearins, a brother in law, joined them before being reassigned to Scotland. Tony Galante serves in Army Air Forces Fighter Control Squadron and went overseas last November. Former Dentonian in Many Raids Never Fired A Gun
Lloyd Baxter, 23, son of Milford residents Mr and Mrs T Mason Baxter, logged 473 combat hours and 54 missions in southern India with the 10th Air Force. Flying as flight engineer on B 21 bombers, he helped hit Nipponese docks, marshalling yards, rail lines and trucking convoys on the Burma Road. Baxter earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal but did not fire a gun, preferring to stay on the flight deck during raids and recalls a Burma mission interrupted by a sudden fighter surge and bright Rangoon spotlights ending the night fighters’ approach. He is now a pre aviation cadet at Greensboro Basic Training Center, AAF Training Command.

Circuit Court Opens in Caroline County With Grand Jury
The spring term of Caroline County Circuit Court opened last Monday with Chief Judge Stephen R. Collins and Associate Judges William R. Horney and J. Owen Knotts. The grand jury, elected foreman Joseph M. Eaton, completed work the same day, returning two true bills and reporting on the county jail and county farm. Petit jurors drawn include T Henry Davis and Norman Seward among others. Judge Knotts postponed the petit jury to next Tuesday for Cecil County criminal cases.

Shore Requests 1128 War Prisoners For Industries
