On March 28 a $250 cash bond for criminal false pretenses was forfeited by Nathaniel Doane before Trial Magistrate W A Stewart Wright. Doane faced an alleged banco scheme in Salisbury involving $750 for a non existent business. State's Attorney said no further action against Doane. On March 24 Brooks Simms received 90 days in the Maryland House of Correction for habitual drunkenness by Magistrate John F Tilghman under a seldom used statute. Simms had six drunkenness convictions in a year.
