New Year Prayers and Odd Animal Notes From a Murky Ledger
A fragmented diary style piece recounts a child’s New Year prayers asking for gifts and kindness to a widow, interwoven with long, odd passages on alligators crows and bumblebees. It also includes a rambling tale of a spirited Arabian horse Jerico and anecdotes about street sweepers and a joke about a pitcher of water.
